I love Christmas for all kinds of reasons, and Christmas food has always been one of the highlights of the season for me. But with two boys, quick and easy is still the name of the game for most of my Christmas baking, and I’ve collected quite a few recipes that fit that description over the years!
Of course, after years of baking for my boys, they both have a few favourites they request every year. My oldest insists on always having a few batches of No Bake Oatmeal Butterscotch Cookies. And my youngest has long been a fan of my super easy and delicious No Bake Chocolate Peanut Butter Bars!
I’ve been making this recipe for years, and it was one my mother always whipped up for Christmas when I was a child too. Needless to say, No Bake Chocolate Peanut Butter Bars are a must for our holidays!
My recipe differs very slightly from some others, mainly in the preparation method since I tend to favour the hands-on experience of stove-top cooking most of the time. If you prefer, though, these bars can be easily made using the microwave.
The best thing about these No Bake Chocolate Peanut Butter Bars is that they freeze beautifully, so they can be made well in advance and stored in a tin in the freezer until needed. A tray of holiday baking is never complete without plenty of these yummy chocolate and peanut butter treats!
Though I have a dozen or so tried-and-true favourites, Christmas is also a time to experiment with new treats! This year I’m looking forward to trying these Layered Chocolate Coconut Bars with their combination of toasted coconut, chocolate and cream cheese.
And I absolutely love whipping up these classic Butterscotch Marshmallow Confetti Squares with butterscotch chips and peanut butter.
No matter what type of treats you prefer during the holidays, there are all kinds of easy and delicious options. Browse the website to find a new favourite for your family or whip up some edible gifts for loved ones; it’s the perfect way to spread a little Christmas cheer!

What is icing sugar?
Hi Gerry! It’s another name for powdered sugar or confectioner’s sugar. Hope this helps!
I have made these squares many times, but never added rice krispies so will definately be trying these squares. Also is there anything i can use instead of coconut oil, I have never used this oil before. Thanking you inadvance for your answer.
I do not have coconut oil, can I use coconut flakes instead and increase the amount of chipits so it’s not too dry? Thanks in advance for your feedback
Hi Karen! The oil is to make the chocolate smoother and melt evenly. If you don’t have it, an equal amount of lard or shortening will also work. Or, just leave it out, but make sure to melt the chocolate extra slowly so it doesn’t scorch. Hope this helps!
