Knowing the temperature will soon drop and the ground will be covered in snow reminds me of all the little household errands I need to do in order to be ready for winter. One of my fall safety chores involves cleaning out the garage and making sure there is a clear secondary route out of the house. I close up the garage window and put a lock on it and my wood stick. I make sure the fire extinguisher is where I expect it to be, and check batteries in the fire alarms and flashlights.
