Improving My Health Naturally With a FitTea Review

June 23, 2015 by Kathryn 13 Comments

While I’m pretty happy with my body overall, I’m always interested in finding new ways to tone up a little more, burn extra fat and improve my general health. And when I can find an easy and fun way to do that, I’m even happier. I’d heard of FitTea products before and I always thought the company’s tagline “Give us a few weeks and we’ll give you a new waistline” sounded intriguing. An all-natural tea that helped promote fat burning and boost immunity sounded like a dream come true to me and since there’s nothing I love more than a soothing cup of tea, I couldn’t help but want to give the product a try. Recently I had the chance to do just that with a FitTea review about how this tea worked for me.

Initially I thought that the FitTea I had been sent was a loose-leaf product, but when I opened the bag I realized it was even better. Traditional tea bags just aren’t the best choice for extracting the maximum flavour and health benefits from tea leaves and while loose-leaf tea is delicious, it’s also a little fussy to make since having a tea ball at the ready is a must. FitTea solves the problem by using large silk pouches, keeping the tea in its proper loose leaf form and allowing proper steeping while still being quick and simple to use. For those that prefer the traditional method, however, a loose-leaf variety is also available. [Read more…]

Make This Creamy Salted Caramel Latte Recipe and Other Delicious Drinks with New Pure Via Stevia Liquid Sweetener-Giveaway

September 19, 2014 by Kathryn 170 Comments

As somebody that is fairly health conscious, but also shuns artificial ingredients in my food, I’ve been a fan of Pure Via sweetener since it was first introduced in Canada. This naturally sourced option is made from an extract from the leaves of the Stevia plant and provides low-calorie sweetness that doesn’t cause fluctuations in blood sugar levels.

Pure Via sweetener is available in a granulated form that I love for baking and for sweetening my coffee in the morning. But the granulated version doesn’t dissolve very well in cold beverages, so I was pretty excited when the brand new Pure Via Stevia Liquid sweetener was introduced! The liquid version of my favourite low-calorie sweetener dissolves instantly in both hot and cold liquids and comes in a handy portable bottle with a no-drip lid perfect for a busy mom.

To let people see for themselves how delicious new Pure Via Liquid is, the company developed some fabulous and delicious cold beverage recipes perfect for a hot day. While autumn may be here, Saskatchewan is still enjoying plenty of warm, sunny days so I decided to test out one of the recipes and see how I liked it. And of course, as a confirmed coffee addict, I couldn’t resist whipping up a Creamy Salted Caramel Latte! [Read more…]

Try Karma Wellness Water and Enter the Push Good Karma Contest to Support Your Favourite Charity-Giveaway

August 18, 2014 by Kathryn 128 Comments

Some time ago I discovered Karma Wellness Water, an innovative new health water available in five delicious and vitamin-enriched flavours. The innovative beverage uses a special UV-blocker cap to ensure that vitamins are kept at maximum potency by keeping the active ingredients out of light and moisture. When it’s time for some extra energy, I just pull off the top of the cap, press down in the center to release the vitamins into the water and then shake the bottle to mix it up.

In addition to being a delicious and hydrating beverage, Karma Wellness Water is naturally sweetened with stevia so that it has just twenty calories per bottle. And the five different formulations are specifically designed to provide just the health boost I’m looking for. From the orange mango flavour that encourages sharper thinking to the acai pomberry flavour that boosts immunity, the essential vitamins in each bottle have me charged up and ready to tackle my day no matter what I’m doing! Karma Wellness Water Naturally Energizes for Healthy Living

February 22, 2014 by Kathryn 67 Comments

I’ve been on a mission to live a little better this year, from eating healthier to getting more exercise. And one of the simplest and most effective ways I’ve found to improve my health is to get enough liquid every day. I’m pretty good about staying properly hydrated, but there are times when I just don’t want another glass of water. Water enriched with vitamins has become popular for just this reason, since it combines hydration with great flavour and added health benefits. But after reading the labels, I’ve found that some brands have questionable nutritional value and sometimes even artificial sweeteners, something I avoid with a passion.

Karma Wellness Water sounded like just the product I needed. Sweetened naturally with stevia and a touch of cane sugar, it contained just 20 calories per bottle with five tempting flavours to choose from. I loved the low calories, fruit flavours and natural ingredients that Karma Wellness Water featured. But it wasn’t until I received a few bottles to review that I saw how different this new beverage really is.

Enjoy Naturally Sweet Summer Treats with Truvia Sweetener-Giveaway

August 1, 2013 by Kathryn 108 Comments

With concerns about commercial sweeteners becoming more and more prevalent, one of the hottest new food and diet trends is using stevia-based sweeteners to replace sugar in everything from coffee to baked goods. Canada has a few different brands of stevia-based sweetener available and recently I received a fun iced tea prize pack so that I could test out Truvia, one of the new brands of sweeteners derived from stevia, for myself.

The reason a stevia-based sweetener is said to be better for the body than commercial artificial sweeteners is that it doesn’t cause a spike in blood sugar. Truvia sweeteners come in a variety of different packages including a 40-count box and 80-count box of sachets perfect for coffee, tea and cereal and a spoonable jar that works great for cooking and baking. The spoonable jar was my personal favourite; I loved the way I could flip open the top and scoop out as much as I needed.
